Duncan Aitkins BA(Hons) DMS DIPEcon PGCE FE(Cert) ACIM MAPM

Duncan Aitkins is the Housing services Manager and also acts the Chief Executive of the Co-op. He has been with Arneway since November 1996 having gained experience previously with Broomleigh Housing Association and Cyron Housing Co-op. Duncan has a wide an extensive business experience gained from appointments in Central and Local government, Leisure Management and in Education Management with Bromley College of FE/HE; and independent Management Consultant and FE Lecturer in Business and Management Studies with Bexley College FE.

Duncan also has voluntary and charitable service appointments including Trustee of Bromley Churches Housing Action and the JusB Youth Club in London Borough of Bromley. He has recently completed a MA course at University of East London in Social Enterprise (Management & Development) gaining a Diploma; and he is currently undertaking a Diploma in Housing with the Sheffield University via distance learning.

Folu is the Co-op's current Treasurer, new to the Co-op he reflects the new tenant who wants to become involved with Co-op affairs and help the Co-op develop and grow. Folu comes from a Housing Management background is currently employed by a large Local Authority in East London .

Mick is also a long standing member who helps the Co-op in many ways especially by distributing correspondence and checking and verifying repairs that have been undertaken by contractors. He is a member of the Maintenance and Repairs Sub-Group.

David is one of the longest standing members of the Co-op and he has been heavily involved with the Management Committee over many years. He is currently the Vice Chair and holds appointments on the Maintenance/Repairs; the Employment and Finance/Rent Sub-Group committees.

Peter is employed by a large Housing Local Authority South of the river and brings his experience to help the Management Committee with many tasks. He has excellent IT skills which is very helpful for members and staff alike.

Manal Sarah Ibrahim ( BEng MSc CPD)

Surveyor / Profession Civil Engineer

Manal is a member of the Maintenance Sub-Group and offers a very welcome professional service to the Co-op with her experience as a Surveyor and Engineer. She often visits properties on behalf of the Management Team to inspect and report on major repairs and cyclical programmes. Manal¹s contribution is crucial to the Co-op.

Veronica has been the Chair since 2003 and has brought the Co-op through many difficult times especially in recent times. Veronica is currently employed by a large Housing Association and is hoping to qualify as a Legal Executive. She is an invaluable asset to the Management Committee.

Sharon is another recent addition to the Management Committee and volunteered her service as an Assistant Secretary and is always very willing to become involved with a variety of tasks and issues.

Katia has been a member for a number of years and has served the Management Committee well over this period. She assumed the role as Treasurer last year when the appointment fell vacant. Always willing to help members and the Committee she is a valuable member of the team.

Bereket has re-joined the Management Committee having served originally for 3 years. He has attended several courses on Governance Issues and also attended Annual Housing Conferences. He has developed a strong relationship with many members and is employed locally helping disadvantaged adults with their transport needs.

John is employed by a major construction contractor and his practical experience is invaluable on the Maintenance/Repairs Sub-Group which he has served for many years.

Pat Phillpot is the current Chair of the Maintenance/Repairs Sub-Group which he also has served for many years. He is also a member of the Finance/Rent Sub-Group and is always willing to visit members and assist with small tasks.
